Restoration Arts

Listening to Makoto Fujimura was very inspirational. His video “Golden Sea” really painted a picture of his inspiration and creative process. I love how he took us through the shop where he was first drawn to painting and colors. I thought it really proved how different views can lead to a truly beautiful creative happening. In the video his mentor mentions how his outside experience allows him to see things from a different view. Also, that his religion made such a deep impact in his work. I love how in his work there is a depth and beauty that is easily seen. They draw you in and you can’t look away. I liked this video and listening to him speak on his creative process because it was a way into seeing his process.
