Week 3

“Creativity vs. Quants”

            This article is all about how creativity is being stifled at the high school level because of standardized tests. It also explains how John Lennon and Steve Jobs came up with creative ideas in a way that cannot me standardized. Creativity comes from messiness. In today’s society we analyze everything down to the core, but the one thing we cannot come up with a solid understanding of quantitatively is creativity, that is because it comes from disorderliness. The article ends with Amazon and how their company has stifled creativity. From a business aspect they are giants, but when it comes to creating material that influences culture they are weak.
